Overview
About this Course
This is a cultural and educational program aimed at enhancing students’ Arabic language abilities. It focuses on developing skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, as well as understanding the Qur’an.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Learn the parts of speech in Arabic.
- Understand sentence types in the Arabic language.
- Acquire a rich set of vocabulary used in everyday contexts such as the home, school, the market, and the mosque.
- Learn independent pronouns and demonstrative nouns.
- Understand interrogative and vocative styles.
- Distinguish between indeclinable (mabni) and declinable (mu‘rab) forms in Arabic.
- Differentiate between indefinite and definite nouns.
Assessment Methods:
Students will be evaluated through:
- An oral interview during the first session to determine the appropriate track (for native or non-native Arabic speakers).
- A final exam at the end of the program.
- Worksheets and in-class activities throughout the course.

Ustadh Aghyad, a native Arabic literature graduate, has had a lifelong passion for the Arabic language, becoming a renowned poet in Syria. Since moving to Canada, he has taught Arabic at various levels for 15 years and holds an Ijazah in i’rab of the Qur'an.
